Vascular Surgery

Vascular surgery is the medical specialty dedicated to the study, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the circulatory system, i.e. diseases associated with the arteries, veins and lymphatic vessels.
Among the most common pathologies are chronic venous disease (including varicose veins and varicose ulcers), pelvic venous disease – varicocele, and venous thrombosis (superficial – phlebitis and deep).
Vascular surgery specialists have a wide range of non-invasive diagnostic and treatment techniques at their disposal, which allow treatment without hospitalization, such as laser therapy or sclerotherapy for the treatment of small varicose veins.
The procedures and approaches most commonly used to treat varicose veins in the lower limbs are:

Varicose vein surgery

This consists of removing the diseased veins (varicose veins) through conventional surgery or less invasive techniques such as laser, radiofrequency or even the use of glue.
These surgical techniques are carried out in a less invasive way, through millimetric incisions and under local anesthesia, which allows for an almost immediate recovery and with much less risk of complications.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is another possible treatment for varicose veins, especially at an early stage.
In this procedure, a solution is injected directly into the vein, which causes an irritation reaction.
It is a quick treatment which, in most cases, allows the blood to circulate through other, healthier veins.
This procedure can be carried out with the injection of liquid or sclerosing foam (in the case of larger varicosities) alone or in combination with laser therapy (CLaCs), in these situations we usually see faster results).

Laser therapy transdermal and Thermavein

In this procedure, laser energy or heat is applied directly to the vessel to be treated, achieving immediate fibrotic occlusion.
To make the procedure more comfortable and effective, it is combined with cryotherapy (direct emission of a cold jet).
